Oakens is for children born September 2015 to August 2017.
The group is led by Bea, an experienced Steiner-Waldorf tutor alongside Lauren, an experienced Forest-School Leader and Yoli a freelance artist. They work together to provide a nurturing weekly rhythm with a seasonal, nature based Class 2/3 curriculum. The group has a maximum size of 16 children.

Our day
Each day follows a balanced rhythm, creating a space where the children are able to play freely and imaginatively using natural resources, both indoors and out. Alongside creative free play, the children are encouraged to engage in activities that nourish their senses such as baking, painting, woodwork and handcrafts, supporting their all-round development at their own pace.
The group offers a warm, unhurried, gentle setting. The children start the day with main lesson before heading into the nearby woodland or the settings beautiful gardens to be immersed in nature, whatever the weather.
Communal activites include seasonal songs, verses and games, storytime, snack and lunch time. There are termly festivals for our community of families to celebrate with the group.
Each child is supported to play creatively and imaginatively, to build friendships, social skills and life skills, in an environment which allows their childhood to be treasured.

Setting
We have a wonderful setting in a community hall in Fishponds, close to woodland and a large park.
There is a large garden to play and explore within and a designated growing area. Indoors, the group has access to a room for main lesson, a large hall and a kitchen.
