One of the aims of the Apple Tree is to create an environment that allows freedom in teaching – for tutors to teach out of themselves in relationship with the children and curriculum. We promote the notion of teaching as an art.
As a result, experienced tutors are keen to work with The Apple Tree – a project that regards tutors as professionals with expertise not only in curriculum delivery, but child development too.
Tutors and assistants have the benefit of being part of the wider thriving Apple Tree community including teachers meetings, mentoring if required and support from our oversight group. We organise festivals in collaboration with other Steiner home-ed groups in Bristol and regular social gatherings.
Bristol has a well established and ever growing home education community within which the Apple Tree has many roots.
Working with the Apple Tree is a wonderful opportunity to work autonomously with the children and holistically with families. Bringing the essence of Steiner education in collaboration with a committed and incredibly supportive group of pro-active parents.
